Polarization and isolation of Left front

Last night was a momentous evening in political scene of India. After the Samajawadi Party went through the motions of UNPA meeting and making their views known on nuclear deal Left stands isolated without any allies.
Left has controlled the UPA government for too long without taking any responsibility. They have put impediments in liberalizing the economy and tied the hands of Finance Minister and Prime Minister. They opposed the hike of oil prices for too long and PM was forced to take the decision at the eleventh hour which resulted in higher inflation rates. If the government has raised the oil prices when inflation was around 8% by a small amount the effect could have been controlled. In fact Congress has lost much by the association with left then it has gained. As the elections are coming round the corner, left would have withdrawn the support before election if not for the nuclear deal to claim that they are not responsible for all the ills.
Left has presence only three states, West Bengal, Tripura and Kerala. In recent elections to corporations in Bengal, Congress and Trinamul Congress have made some gains and in Kerala the history shows that voters swing from one front to another. They have been raiding on the shoulders of regional parties like DMK to make some gains. With DMK supporting the Nuclear deal and they themselves are living on the support of Congress in Tamil Nadu, they will not go with Left.
In case of TDP, the recent resignations of one of its leaders in support of Telengana and Chiranjeevi starting his political party is at cross roads and they may lean back towards NDA.
With all these happening the dream of Left to start a third front will fail prematurely and is a good sign for country.
